Have you read Monica and Joel's blogs?

Nieces and Nephews-

I have always wanted to comment on the fact that I think that I have some of the most amazing nieces and nephews around. What gifts they have. What insight. I would like to highlight one nephew who is a profoundly gifted artist. Have you ever checked out his paintings? Joel's paintings is a link on the side of my blog that will take you to his page. His wife Monica is the most gifted and wise writer. I love to read what she has to say. Don't forget to look at her blog as well. She has a long writing about greed and the Walmart employee death as well as a link to an article about Wendell Berry. You may just understand where Bob's head is these days when you read of this man.

Have yourself a merry little Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to family and friends.
God bless you!
I had an opportunity to see this painting in person at an exhibit in the Phoenix Art Museum. It was incredible! It made me cry which surprised me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am wondering how "our" pet turkeys are doing right now. I hope that they are safe in the woods. ;-) We got a kick out of them visiting the house daily in the fall in Aura. You can see how comfortable they were around the house. There was a group of nine. Bob said Charlie said that he thinks there are eight now.

News and more news

News, mom returned home from Michigan with a bit of congestion, weakness, but her report and bloodwork from the doctor was good. Then this week she started the real sore throat thing, with some coughing but mostly tightness and increased weakness. I called the Dr. yesterday and was monitoring her, giving her plenty of fluids etc...but this morning at 2 am when I checked on her she was awake but not able to follow directions and her fever went to 103. I called the paramedics and they took her to the hospital. She is resting comfortably tonight. I just left after making sure she was settled after dinner. She has been hydrated, has regular breathing treatments, iv antibiotics, and they think it is pneumonia.

So...I will be getting some needed sleep tonight knowing she is comfortable or more so than last night.

Other news, Charlie, Bob's brother has reported that in spite of some good rainfall in the UP that there is no water in the basement! This is good. ;-)

Bob the (Trench) Builder

Bob spent two weeks doing odd jobs around the house in Michigan while waiting for a crew to come together so that he could dig trenches with his brother Charlie at the house. This will hopefully reduce the water that finds its way into the basement. As soon as the main trench was dug, the water filled it so that was a major indication how necessary this improvement was. There were four major trenches dug. Out back, Two in front, and on the side. Gutters are being installed this week and after we will have to work on landscaping again, although Bob and Charlie smoothed it all out quite a bit. God gave them beautiful weather during the project and it was done just before snow and rain came.
