Matt visits

One thing we look forward to at this time of year is a Matt visit. We are thankful to Jim that he drives to see us with our son! Matt's vehicle is a well travelled Honda and we aren't so sure it will take a long drive without attention, so we prefer he leave it behind. He will hopefully be home for Christmas as well. We enjoy hearing of his experiences and his spiritual growth. He surprised us with a moustache this visit. :-)

Be still and know

Writing about Joel's "still life", reminded me of the scripture, "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10) There was a song that stayed with me all through the summer. I couldn't get it out of my head and it was such a powerful reminder that I needed.

Be Still And Know
Artist: Steven Curtis Chapman

be still and know that he is God
be still and know that he is holy
be still oh restless soul of mine
bow before the prince of peace
let the noise and clamor cease

be still and know that he is God
be still and know that he is faithful
consider all that he has done
stand in awe and be amazed
know that he will never change
be still

be still and know that he is God
be still and know that he is God
be still and know that he is God
be still
be speechless

be still and know that he is God
be still and know he is our father
come rest your head upon his breast
listen to the rhythm of
his unfailing heart of love
beating for his little ones
calling each of us to come
be still
be still

My nephew Joel's STILL LIFE

When mom and I went to Michigan this summer we were able to send a few things home to AZ with Bob who drove our car. The most precious item mom wanted was the picture Joel painted for her. We now have it in her living room and it is so nice to see it daily. Joel is an accomplished artist living in Romania with his wife Monica and their boys, Abram and Simi. They are missionaries there and work with street kids. I wanted to share Joel's picture with you. We treasure it. Pray for them and their ministry.

Thanksgiving 2007

We had a nice thanksgiving with mom, Bob, Jim, (Bob's brother), Matt (came with Jim from CA), Andrew, and myself. It was a beautiful Arizona weekend. It has finally cooled off and
it was just perfect!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Everyday should be thanksgiving. Thanking God for each thing in our lives knowing that He is in control and loves us. We can be certain that He is by our side. Thank you Lord for your unfailing mercy.

"Praise the LORD, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.PRAISE THE LORD, I TELL MYSELF, AND NEVER FORGET THE GOOD THINGS HE DOES FOR ME.He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.HE RANSOMS ME FROM DEATH AND SURROUNDS ME WITH LOVE AND TENDER MERCIES.He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's!THE LORD IS MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS; HE IS SLOW TO GET ANGRY AND FULL OF UNFAILING LOVE.He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does he deal with us as we deserve.FOR HIS UNFAILING LOVE TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR HIM IS AS GREAT AS THE HEIGHT OF THE HEAVENS ABOVE THE EARTH.He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.THE LORD IS LIKE A FATHER TO HIS CHILDREN, TENDER AND COMPASSIONATE TO THOSE WHO FEAR HIM. FOR HE UNDERSTANDS HOW WEAK WE ARE; HE KNOWS WE ARE ONLY DUST.Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone — as though we had never been here.BUT THE LOVE OF THE LORD REMAINS FOREVER WITH THOSE WHO FEAR HIM. HIS SALVATION EXTENDS TO THE CHILDREN'S CHILDRENPraise the LORD, everything he has created, everywhere in his kingdom. As for me — I, too, will praise the LORD." From Psalm 103

Good morning! Just to let you know...if I use a Spanish word it will always be clarified with the English translation. I am normally a Mac user so this world of Windows Vista is new to me. I will be learning as I go.

Bienvenidos-Welcome!

Welcome to Peli Ponderings. Geez...I just couldn't decide quick enough what my title would be so this is it. Peli stands for Peliroja which means redhead in Spanish for those enquiring minds who want to know.

I am excited to learn this blog process. I am currently living next door to my mother and caring for her. I am hoping that this new computer will provide a bit of extra income.

Quote for the day: "Don't let reality ruin your day!" I live by this quote attempting to enjoy the moments that we are given and leaving the big and little stuff that is overwhelming at times to God. He is in charge anyway! '-)
