Have yourself a merry little Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to family and friends.
God bless you!
I had an opportunity to see this painting in person at an exhibit in the Phoenix Art Museum. It was incredible! It made me cry which surprised me.

I love Norman Rockwll pieces. The world is so sarcastic and stuck on reality that he is under appreciated. I have heard people say that his art is unrealistic and no one's lives are ever as he portrayed. But, looking at this piece, it reminds me of what my family was like at some moments. If not always perfect, there were perfect moments. I think that there are perfect moments in my family today. Rockwell's art reminds me of what we should all be striving for and it reminds me to hold onto those perfect moments in my heart and remember them instead of the negative times. I know that there are people in the world who may never have these special, perfect moments in their lives. I feel so blessed that I do. I also know that with a little effort, more people could have peace and love in their lives and feel those same blessings. It has very little to do with money and possessions, but more to do with attitude and gratitude. Thanks for sharing this and Happy Thanksgiving. I love you and your family.

The U of A sent me an invitation to go to a talk and exhibition of Norman Rockwell's paintings a few years back. It was fascinating. Much deeper than I would have imagined. To see all his Saturday Evening posts as full huge paintings was wonderful. In the lecture they spoke of him and his unique contribution to American culture at a time when the TV was not yet giving us the images we see now. He was providing the images of Americana. Anyway it was interesting and very moving. I was so impressed.
