The Reason for the season

Luke 2: 8-14

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

Mom's quilted scene for Christmas

Mom sewed and appliqued this Christmas scene a long time ago that reminds us of Michigan.

She hangs it each Christmas (ok...technically I hang it. ;-) and loves to look at it. We all do.

Her chair is positioned straight across from this.

God's decorations + the neighbors

We had a beautiful sunset tonight that was so much nicer even than this shows. God won the Christmas decoration contest. His colors were spectacular. However we are grateful to the neighbors for their efforts! We sure are enjoying them all!

Kite Runner

Mom hasn't read a novel in a LONG TIME. Recently she picked up a book Dixie gave her a couple of years ago and has gotten totally involved in it. That is great! This book has recently been made into a movie.

Wow! Jim (Bob's brother) sent a picture that he took in October in front of mom's house. He sent it so I could use it as a screen saver. It has been so long since I was in an October color change and it was so refreshing and beautiful. This is the view from the house in Aura!
