"I'll praise You in this storm"

We sang a song that touched me so much in church today. Of course I have sung this often but today it just spoke to me powerfully. It was a great worship song... basically offering praise to God in the good times and the bad. I can't imagine what Job really felt when he went through his testing. His reponse was so important to what happened in his future.

Now the following lyrics are not the song we sang in church but rather one that speaks a similar message. It is a song by "Casting Crowns".

"I was sure by now / That You would have reached down / And wiped our tears away / stepped in and saved the day / but once again, I say "Amen," and its still raining. As the thunder rolls / I barely hear you whisper through the rain / "I'm with you" / And as Your mercy falls / I raise my hands and praise the God that gives / And takes away.

I'll Praise you in this storm / And I will lift my hands / For You are who You are / No matter where I am / Every tear I've cried / You hold in your hand / You never left my side / And though my heart is torn / I will Praise You in this storm.

I remember when / I stumbled in the wind / You heard my cry / You raised me up again / My strength is almost gone / How can I carry on? / If I can't Find you ? As the thunder rolls / I barely hear you whisper through the rain / "I'm with you" / And as Your mercy falls / I raise my hands and praise the God that gives / And takes away

Where does my help come from? / My help comes from the Lord / The maker of Heaven and Earth I lift my eyes into the hills / Where does my help come from? / My help comes from the Lord / The maker of Heaven and Earth I'll Praise you in this storm

Hi Ruth!
I loved our brunch on Friday! It was so great to see your beautiful smiling face! I love you. Don't forget to send me your address! Can you believe I had to work this first day back to school? It was Madalynn's class, so how could I say no? Atleast it was only a half day.

Their songs speak to me too...
"Who am I"
"Voice of truth"-(I sure want to be listening to the correct Voice! NOt the one that yells at me.)
and the refrain that is sung loud at our house,
"What if the family turned to Jesus, STOP askin' Oprah what to do!"

I know I am boring with my songs but they are what is in my head and it makes me appreciate how powerful music can be and a great weapon for our good!"
